Equipment

  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Salad Plate

Ingredients

  • 2 Pieces English Cucumbers paper-thin slices
  • ½ Piece Red Onion very thinly sliced
  • ¼ Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Agave or Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Dill finely chopped
  • Black Pepper cracked
  • Dill optional: addition for decoration

Instructions

  • Collect cucumbers, red onion, apple cider vinegar, honey or agave, fresh dill, sea salt, and black pepper. Rinse everything thoroughly and set out a large mixing bowl for later.
  • Slice the cucumbers and onion into thin, even rounds, and finely chop the dill, reserving some for garnish.
  • Combine cucumbers and onion in a bowl, then add vinegar, sweetener, and a pinch of salt. Stir gently to coat the vegetables without crushing them.
  • Refrigerate for about 20 minutes so the flavors meld. Drain any excess liquid, then serve topped with dill and freshly cracked pepper.

Notes

  • Slice Thin for Best Flavor: Thinly slicing cucumbers and onions helps them soak up the vinegar dressing better. The thinner the slices, the tastier and more balanced each bite becomes.
  • Chill Before Serving: Let the salad rest in the fridge for at least 20 minutes before eating. This gives the flavors time to blend and makes the salad extra refreshing.
  • Adjust the Tang: If you like it sharper, add a splash more vinegar. For a milder taste, mix in a little sugar or honey to balance the acidity.
  • Keep It Crisp: Use fresh, firm cucumbers for the best crunch. Soft cucumbers can make the salad watery, so freshness really matters here.
