Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Spinach fresh, chopped
  • 1 Pound Sausage
  • Cups Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 8 Pieces Eggs large
  • ½ Cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1 Pinch Pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon Oil or Butter for greasing

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°Fahrenheit (190°Celsius), grease a 9×9-inch baking dish, and gather spinach, sausage, cheese, eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and oil or butter.
  • Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally until crumbly and cooked through, then drain excess grease.
  • Spread sausage evenly in the prepared dish, top with chopped spinach, and create a layered base for the egg mixture.
  • Whisk eggs, cream, salt, and pepper until smooth, pour over the sausage and spinach, top with cheddar, and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and set.

Notes

  • Prep the night before for easy mornings. Assemble the strata ahead of time so all you need to do is pop it in the oven when you wake up. This makes busy mornings stress-free and still delicious.
  • Cook the sausage well for full flavor. Browning the sausage properly adds a rich taste and keeps the dish from being greasy. It also gives the eggs a savory depth.
  • Add vegetables for extra color and nutrition. Spinach, mushrooms, or peppers mix beautifully with the eggs and sausage. They make the strata more balanced and flavorful.
  • Use a mix of cheeses for creaminess. Cheddar, mozzarella, or even Swiss melt together perfectly. The variety makes every bite satisfying and cheesy.
